Encounter
On January 17th the International Department of Youth & Christian Education in
partnership with the American Bible Society will launch Bible Sunday which is
an effort to enlist 100,000 Church of God adults, youth and children in scripture
engagement at least four times per week.
PURPOSE
To build children and youth in their disicpleship process, as they prepare for invasion in their schools and communities. To teach children and youth the priority, passion, privilege and power of prayer, fasting and scripture engagement as they prepare for an INVASION in their schools and communities
STRATEGY
During this 21 day emphasis, Youth Pastors and Leaders, and Children’s Pastors and Leaders are encouraged to emphasize one of the three emphases each week in their worship services. This can be accomplised by including the theme throughout the service, in the music, testimonials
(video and live), sermon series, and even in table top displays in the foyer.

FASTING
Fasting is to voluntarily abstain from eating and/or drinking for an extendedperiod of time. Biblical fasting is a discipline of voluntarily denying one’s self of the basics of eating in order to be available for prayer and communion with the Lord.
